01 / THE CHALLENGE
The problem worth solving.
Checking every move in recorded backgammon matches by eye was slow and unreliable.
What the system needed to do
- Enforce full rule compliance with zero tolerance for illegal moves
- Deliver a working system within roughly one week
The real-world constraints
- LLMs can hallucinate rules in edge cases, which is unacceptable for tournament play
- Mapping raw CV coordinates to accurate board state
02 / THE SOLUTION
How it came together.
We combined a deterministic rule engine with an LLM fallback used only for genuinely ambiguous, non-rule-critical data, keeping the rules engine, not the model, as the source of truth.
Translate checker coordinates into a normalized board state.
Explore the architecture. This is an explanatory diagram, not a live production system.
03 / THE OUTCOME
What the work delivered.
- Deterministic rule checks for recorded moves
- Match export compatible with XG analysis tools

Real-time Dice CV
- Problem
- Real-world dice rolls needed to be read fairly and verified before affecting the game.
- What we built
- A computer vision pipeline that detects, tracks, and reads dice rolls in real time, sending verified results straight to a Unity game server.
- Result
- Verified dice recognition in under 3 seconds

Visa Application Automation
- Problem
- Agents retyped passport and document data into multiple application forms. A single typo could delay or derail an application.
- What we built
- Passport and document extraction that prepares visa forms automatically, leaving staff to review instead of retype.
- Result
- 20 to 30 minutes saved per application
Illustration at $20 per person-hour. Application volume is not assumed. Before project and running costs.
